A Sunday Daybook

For Today . . . February 10, 2019

Looking out my window . . . it is gray and bitter cold. The ground is blanketed in snow, even the trees look cold.

I am thinking . . . that I've been enjoying my February blog project -- organizing and simplifying, while writing about it daily with write28days , but it's nice to take a break today and just write this Daybook. If you are so inclined, there is a nice group of bloggers who participate each month. Here's the link.

I am thankful . . . for this wonderful magazine that my aunt gifted to me. Along with a hot cup of tea, it's a warm respite to a cold winter's day. I'm thankful for a girl's day today, lunch and a movie with my friend Kathy. I'm thankful for leftover Chinese food in the fridge, so I don't have to cook dinner tonight!

Some of my favorite things . . . popcorn with butter and salt, Valentine's Day, and Yellowstone National Park (on my bucket list is to visit the park in the wintertime).

I am creating . . . a baby blanket for our new grandchild, due in June! Another sweet girl is on the way. I have a couple of patterns picked out, and need to make a decision about which one to use. And find some PINK! yarn!

I am wearing . . . jeans, a cowl-neck sweater, thick socks and slippers.

I am reading . . . The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery. It's the February selection for our book club, The Book Bags.

I am watching binging on. . . The West Wing series on Netflix. Can't get enough!

I am praying . . . for a young couple and their sweet child.

In my kitchen . . . lots of soups and crock pot meals, and some homemade focaccia bread. We made panini sandwiches with the bread for lunch yesterday -- turkey, pepperjack cheese and pesto.

In my garden . . . no signs of spring yet, but when this snow starts to melt, I anticipate crocus and daffodils sprouting up.

From the board room . . . browsing pins on my Valentine board

"What day is it?" asked Pooh.
"It's today," squeaked Piglet.
"My favorite day," said Pooh.

A moment from my day . . . A new favorite drink -- cherry mocha! Good hot or cold. I ordered cold, but had a sip of Dan's hot:)

Closing Notes . . . Tomorrow, I'll be back to choosing a task from the 25 Ways to Simplify in 10 minutes or Less list. It's been fun to have some of my readers joining in, sharing their progress in the comments, or through emails to me. Thank you for  helping me stay motivated:)

Happy Sunday!

What wonderful news of a grandchild coming in June!

I love Bella Grace magazine. I don't buy it often since it's expensive, but I indulge once in awhile. In fact, I have about 6 or 7 of the magazines here from the past few years and I've been going through them again and then I'm going to try to sell them on OfferUp or FB Marketplace. I've never written in them or folded any pages, so they look brand new. We'll see if there's anyone that wants to buy them!

Loved reading your daybook, Karen! I just finished a cup of hot chocolate topped with mini marshmallows! We had a little snow coming down when we went to church this evening, but while there it snowed a considerable amount compared to earlier and it was a beautiful ride home. I'm anticipating waking up in the morning and watching the birds flying to and from our feeders while I work in the kitchen! :)

I got the PINK afghan wrapped in the pink baby paper this afternoon, wrapped it for mailing so that we can take it to the post office tomorrow and I just now realized that I forgot to take a picture! I'll have to dig around tomorrow and see if I have a picture of another one I've made just like it. As Pooh would say, "Oh bother!" :)

I am ready to start on a blue/white one now for our new little neighbor who joined the neighborhood this past Wednesday. it won't take long to work up.

Have a great remainder to your new week!

I enjoyed your Daybook! I used to post entries quite often but I haven't in a long, long time....until this month.
Enjoy sewing for your new grandbaby. I have a new grandson coming in August so I'm working on a fox quilt for him!
