June Daybook

For Today, June 12, 2018

Looking out my window . . . a blue, cloudless sky and a soft breeze.  A hot day ahead, but for now it is cool and balmy.

I am thinking . . . of what the day holds. Work for a few hours, a hair appointment, then a movie with my aunt and a friend. We're going to see Book Club.

I am thankful . . . for my husband who is my partner in life. I don't thank him enough.

One of my favorite things . . . lupine, Sweet William, poppies, Indian blanket, roses . . . they are all my favorites and they are blooming in the garden.

I am creating . . . a new story.

I am wearing . . .  capris, flowered tee and sandals.

I am reading . . . just finished News of the World by Paulette Jiles. It is sure to be one of my favorite reads of the summer, and in fact on my Top 10 faves of all time. I have a crush on Captain Jefferson Kidd. He reminds me of Augustus McCrae in Lonesome Dove.

I am hoping . . . that I can stay in the moment during the full week ahead!

I am learning . . . some wonderful writing exercises from this website.

In my kitchen . . . last night we made paninis on the grill that I keep forgetting I have. Thanks to my stepmom for reminding me!

In my garden . . . lettuce, squash, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, garlic, onions, arugula, a variety of herbs, and strawberries.

A moment from my day . . . Dan and I went to the Rockies game on Sunday. When Siefer found out she said, "Have a tornado!" (It's a wonderful, sugary doughy treat). We took this picture and sent it to her.

Ah, a hair appointment. Don't you just love when she shampoos you and your head is magnificently massaged? That is always my favorite part, and I sit and moan with pleasure.

The roses are beautiful. I especially love those pink, yellow, and orange roses. They remind me of a sunset.

Ah, Augustus MacRae. Such a great character, and brilliantly played by Robert Duvall. Lonesome Dove is such a fantastic movie/show. My son-in-law has never seen it, which is funny because he is from Texas. We keep saying we are going to introduce him to it.

Do you and Dan have season tickets to the Rockies? We love baseball---Red Sox fans. My son and husband are heading to Seattle this weekend, as the Sox will be playing the Mariners. So Father's Day is the 3-game series for Gary.

I really enjoyed reading your daybook.

Since Blogger is not emailing comments for the time being, I am going subscribe to my own comments and have them emailed to me. Otherwise, the only way I know if I have a new comment is to keep checking back on my blog. I appreciate when people comment and don't want to miss any!

Book Club was so good!!! ( I love me some Andy Garcia) I went with my girlfriend last week ~ neither one of us have a tolerance for alcohol but we met at a nearby restaurant for (2)drinks before the movie anyway. Not good... I spilled a huge diet coke all over the service counter and she had to get up twice during the movie to pee. hahaha.

Your daybook is awesome.. I'm going to check out the link to possibly do my own. : )
Have a great weekend ( if I don't see you before)
