Monday, Monday

FOR TODAY, September 24, 2012

Outside my overcast and dreary.  Rain is expected in the next couple of days.  We desperately need it.

I am thinking...that September is my favorite month and it's almost over.

I am thankful...for Facebook, as odd as that sounds.  It's so nice to keep in touch with family, especially my nieces:)

In the kitchen...a recipe for Scallops and Sweet Potatoes, from Glorious One Pot Meals is on the menu for tonight.

I am creating...a slip cover for a chair in the guest room.  Wish me luck.

I am try to find someone to re-cut a mirror to fit a sweet round frame that I have.

I am reading...The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Muhsin Hamid

I am looking forward to...the season premiere of Modern Family this week.

Around the house... Just finished vacuuming and cleaning the kitchen.  Son #1 is doing laundry, Son #2 just waking up (from graveyard shift), Hubs is making lunch:)

I am God's plans are always so different from our own. (Same as last week, but I need reminding of this)

A favorite quote for today... "How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives." ~~Annie Dillard

One of my favorite things...Bath & Bodywork's Japanese Cherry Blossom lotion.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  I'm attending the Women of Faith conference in Denver this Friday!

A picture for you...a flower shop in Sausalito.

I'm linking up with The Simple Woman's Daybook.

Great things to be thankful for. I think that October is my favorite month ~ the weather is cooler and the air is bewitching!
Have a great time at the conference. Beautiful picture.

How exciting, W of F conferences are so fun!

I never would have thought to put scallops and sweet potatoes together. That looks like an interesting cookbook.

I just made a few choice purchases at Bath and Body Work when we went to Calgary on the weekend. Among my favorites: Pear Chardonay hand soap and an Autumn Day candle.

I know you'll enjoy the conference. I have the ones I've been to in the past...
Don't you love one dish meals that you can make ahead...
I have no sense of smell and have to rely on others to tell me how well something smells, my sister recommended the Cherry Blossom one and a tube of triple moisture body creme sits beside me on the table. It is great on my dry skin.
If it wasn't for FB I wouldn't know what is happening with my "grands" in GA.

I just caught up on your blog and your summer. I love what you said about your blog helping you find the sunny side of things. Gosh, that is so true. And I cannot think of a better reason to write than for that purpose.

Glad to see you here. I will add you back to my blog reader as I had taken you off. I'm still not blogging and okay with that. So much to do right now. But we are back in Florida in our home here and so happy. Our boys are 2 hours away, our neighbors are the same, our home is HUGE compared to our tiny apartment, and I love the act of nesting again in my own place. I can't wait to attack the yard.

Still recovering from that foot surgery though, so everything is slower and that is okay. The Butler is looking for a job. We're here on faith. AGAIN.

So good to catch up with you Karen.

Oh girl, I am so excited for you that you get to go to a Women of Faith conference! I'm trying not to be jealous ...

I love September, too. I guess we learn to appreciate it more when we have lived through the dog days of August!
