Friday Favorites

Looking back on the week and remembering some of the best parts. Thank you, Susanne, for hosting Friday's Fave Five.

1. We got hit with a huge blizzard yesterday. Fourteen inches of snow for our town. As much as we've been loving the spring weather, we've been desperate for moisture -- only 3" so far this year. So, the snow was much needed.

2. The kids and I canceled some plans yesterday because of the snow, so at noon we decided to brave it and take the jeep to go out to lunch (a mile from our house.) Dan met us at Old Chicago, since his office closed, due to the weather. The restaurant had just the bar area opened and about a dozen tables were being used. It was fun and cozy, watching t.v., eating burgers, and the waitresses were cheerful and joking with everyone. It was like a party.

3. I read two books this week. The first, Trail of Crumbs, I reviewed here on Monday, and the second, The Wednesday Letters by Jason Wright, I read yesterday afternoon. A quick, heart-warming read.

4. Staying up late reading, knowing I don't have to drive the kids to school in the morning. And the best part: Naps. Delicious.

5. A new coffee maker. With a timer. Best part of wakin' up.

Sounds like a less hurried week of activity. A little blizzard has done y'all some good. I read about it. Funny thing spring ... drat this global warming, eh???

Sorry, I couldn't resist. When I read your last line, that commercial's ditty went off in my head. ;-)

We got a new coffeemaker with a timer, too. Hubby's appreciating it more than me, since he always gets up before me, and has the coffee made by the time I stumble into the kitchen each morning.

No snow for us at all this winter, but after so many spring-like days, we're having wintery weather again, too. The dogs didn't even fuss when it was time to come back inside after doing their 'bidness'.

Your Friday sounds like a perfect topper off for your week at home with the kiddos.

OH! A new coffee maker! Fantastic!

The lunch out on a snow day sounds like the best thing to do!

Happy Weekend!

That sounds like quite the blizzard. Stay warm.

Coffee and staying up reading go hand in hand. LOL. Seriously though love those coffee pots with timers. And Friday nights are a treat for me because that is exactly what I get to do.

Hi, just been catching up, liked your Time Travel post. We forget sometimes just how far we have come, and what came before. When we first moved to FL it was all orange groves, dairy farms and cattle rances. Then Disney came and all that was overwhelmed.
I thought of you when I saw the weather reports, glad you got your moisture. We maybe getting some snow first of week.

The reading and the coffee with a timer are my favorites. Life doesn't get much better than that!!!

I love naps! Naps make life worth living, sometimes! (Othertimes it takes naps and chocolate.)

Snow, lunch out, new books, and a new coffeemaker?! Now that would be a banner week to me :) Sounds great!

P.S. Inquiring minds want to know what kind of coffeemaker you got. We have a Cuisinart and love it, but I'm always curious what other people use and like :)

Have a wonderful weekend and week ahead :)

It is wonderful to know you can stay up late without consequences. :) Your spring break sounds wonderful even if it wasn't very springy.
ps--my special *news* is up this morning. Have a wonderful Monday!

Mmm, I remember those spring Colorado blizzards. The snow will be short-lived.

We just got glopped on today. It never quite made it from rain to outright snow. It just stayed glop.

I like my coffee maker with the timer too...the smell while lying in bed is so motivating to get up.
Also 14 inches of got that on Christmas Eve a couple of years was great.
